Songju Ma Daemicke was featured in the China Daily

      Songju Ma Daemicke was born in Jilin, one of China's northeastern provinces, and came to the United States in 1996 to advance her education, eventually earning a master's in computer science. She married and moved to the northern Chicago suburb of Glenview, working as a software engineer for Motorola until her twin daughters were born. ......

美国的出版业竞争非常激烈,作为第一代移民的中国女子,马松桔要用英文写作,要达到出版业对英文语言艺术的要求,特别是能达到儿童教育系列丛书的水平,这并不是一件很容易的事情。但是,马松桔做到了,她在照顾孩子、家庭的同时,报名参加英文写作班培训,凭着坚忍不拔的毅力,还有东方女性的智慧,她的作品最终获得了美国出版界的认可。

马松桔计划在未来出版儿童教育类系列丛书,《闻香案》(The Case of Sense)是第一本,此系列的第二本(Chong Cao Weighs an Elephant),则预期将在明年面世。《闻香案》也在亚马逊书城和Barnes & Nobles正式发行。

Songju Ma Daemicke was featured in the Glenview Lantern

Glenview resident Songju Daemicke’s new children’s book, “A Case of Sense,” was published by Arbordale Publishing as part of their “For Creative Minds” series.

When Glenview resident Songju Daemicke passed a Jimmy Johns “free smells” sign she remembered a story her grandfather told her when she  was a little girl.

Years later, she can’t remember any other details about that story. But the memory inspired Daemicke to write a tale of her own.

“I remembered the basic facts and I used my imagination to make the rest [of the story],” Daemicke said.
